Interesting piece. I thought restarting the current level after death (or permanent death) is the preferred approach in the design. So I’m a little confused about returning to the previous level after death. Is this intentional on your part, or is it a bug?

intentional penalty (;

Hi! I like music in your game. What is a genre of it? What was the inspiration and what software you used to create this track?

Thank you! I used Reason 10 Digital Audio Workstation. I'll call the genre EDM (; hehe

hey this little game ruled! I'm new to Godot and I was able to figure some basic things out looking at your minimalist code that I couldn't from more complicated demos and fancy tutorials and online courses. the print functions made it easy to understand playing in the editor.

it was fun, too! I actually beat it (although I did change the Lose function to not kick you back a level, because that's just mean).

anyway, very cool little minimalist platformer!

awh thank you! im so stoked to hear that (+: i learned a lot from poking around others code & i'm glad you can do that with mine! ^.^

Hi, what are the biggest advantages and disadvantages of Godot to GMS [to you]? As I see, you've used both. Thanks!

With Godot you completely own the game! I've tried to go back and update old GMS projects made with a previous version, and opening the game in the current patch of GameMaker will lead to issues and broken projects. Godot Engine is Open Source and every version of the engine is available to download, along with the source code for it. Going back to old Godot projects is easy, like this game Candy Wrapper I ported from 3.2.2 to 4.1. Godot is also completely free and exports to different platforms! I paid $100 for HTML5 Export license in GMS2, Godot is completely free and always will be. Try it out(+;
